REVIEW: DEPOR LADIES 3 – TACÓN 1 (LIGA)

28 Oct 2019
New victory for a Depor Ladies that remain a steam roller, it only needed one half to crush CD Tacón. Great game by Tere Abelleira, who made two assists and participated in the play of the third goal.

BEFORE THE MATCH
For the first time on the season, coach Manu Sánchez had no injury concerns for a game, this since Érika Sâmia was finally recovered. The coach repeated the lineup that defeated Sporting Huelva, the only exception was goalkeeper María Isabel Rodríguez ‘Misa’.

THE MATCH
Depor Ladies only needed one half to crush CD Tacón, the Galicians ruled in the first part and only suffered after the Madrilenians scored their goal. The team remains undefeated and at the top of the standings battling with giants FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

The game started with Depor Ladies pushing, their first approximation was a cross of Gaby that Alba Merino headed into the path of visiting goalie Ana Valles (2’). CD Tacón started to settle and their first chance was a direct free-kick attempt that Kosovare Asllani sent over the crossbar (10’). That was their only chance in the first part.

Eight minutes later it was Tere Abelleira who had a chance in a free-kick and Valles made the save. And the first goal arrived, it was a corner-kick from the left with Tere releasing a perfect cross that Gaby headed in from the near post and when she was in the middle of three rivals and two team mates.

The goal didn’t change the script of the game, because Depor Ladies were still having the ball, while CD Tacón were more worried on covered all the spots at the back zone. Despite the dominion, the locals weren’t creating too many chances to score.

But the second goal arrived anyway, and it was a great strike. Again Tere Abelleira was assistor, she drilled the ball to Alba Merino, who surprised keeper Valles with a chipping attempt from the edge of the area. And the third goal was close to arrive with a cross of Cris that passed close to the crossbar (37’). Three minutes later Tere sent the ball out in a volley from a free-kick.

The third goal arrived before the break, Nuria Rábano released a cross from the right in a corner-kick action, the ball was deflected at the near post, Tere met it and released a new cross, and after a rebound María Méndez founded it at the far post to score with a volley.

The second half followed the same script, because Depor Ladies were having arrivals. At minute 47, Athenea sent the ball out after getting the ball in a corner-kick action. That was the first big appearance of Athenea del Castillo in the game, she usually is the most active player in the games, but now the role was for Teresa Abelleira. The captain had chances at minute 53 (free-kick) and 58 (corner).

And a new chance for Tere arrived at minute 62, again in a free-kick with his volley going out close to the crossbar. And suddenly CD Tacón scored. Jakobsson released a cross from the left and Chioma Ubogagu headed the ball in. It’s the first goal allowed by the team after three straight clean sheets.

The goal opened a window for CD Tacón, now the Madrilenians started to push and Depor Ladies suffered a bit. The first substitution was the entry of Maya Yamamoto for Athenea. The true is that Depor Ladies were still having chances, but now the rival too.

Peke was close to score at minute 79, it was a crossed shot that passed close to the far post. Michelle Romero was the second substitution after replacing Alba Merino. then Jakobsson missed the target firing from close range (86’), and the game ended with Peke unable to seize a one-on-one action against Ana Valles (89’).
