Depor Ladies were unable to win despite having the advantage in three opportunities. Peke scored a hat-trick and is now the fourth best scorer in the league.

This game was delayed back in December due to a storm passing through Galicia. Coach Manu Sánchez recovered Alba Merino, who returned from a suspension. Laura remained out due to a knee problem. The coach made rotations as the team was playing its fourth game in four weeks. For this reason Tere Abelleira and Peke were benched.

Fourth straight game without victories for Depor Ladies, this time the team deserved more. It had the advantage in three different opportunities, and later the chance to score the definitive goal, but missed three good chances, only to see Real Sociedad tying five minutes before the final whistle.

The game started with an opportunity for both sides, first Kiana Palacios fired a shot that was blocked by Sullastres (2’), in the next play Athenea made a solo-play inside the area and the ball was cleared to corner-kick before she ended the action.

Then Alba Merino suffered a shoulder injury and she was replaced by Tere Abelleira. The locals started to control the game and the next chance was a shot of Kika that went wide (13’), and then Peke earned a penalty after been fouled inside the area by Ane Etxezarreta.

Peke herself converted from the spot, but the advantage only lasted two minutes as Nahikari García tied the actions with a low shot after a collective play. But Depor Ladies continued dominating the ball possession and Peke was going to score again, this time after collecting a loose ball after keeper Adriana Nanclares deflected a shot released by the same attacker.

After the second goal, the game was more balanced. Real Sociedad was close to score in a loose ball after a corner-kick that none pushed in (33’), three minutes later a strong shot by Tere Abelleira was cleared by Adriana to corner-kick. There was more pressure from the visit side within the final ten minutes and Sullastres made a new save, this time against a low shot by Marta Cardona (45’).

The second half started with Real Sociedad pushing for a new equalizer, and it arrived soon in a big defensive error. Bedoya slipped and Marta Cardona face Sullastres in the one-on-one to tie the actions.

This time Depor Ladies didn’t have the same reaction of the first equalizer, the game was more stuck at midfield, but Peke was there to unclog the actions. Michelle Romero made a great play inside the area and his shot was cleared by Adriana, only to find Peke, who just had to push the ball in. She is now the fourth best scorer in the league with 11 goals in 19 games.

Manu Sánchez made two changes as he didn’t want to lose control of the game as it happened before, so Gaby and Maya Yamamoto entered for Kika an Michelle Romero, the plan was to have more pause at midfield and at the same time exploit the physical game of Venezuelan Gaby.

And it was working, because the team felt more comfortable on the pitch and Peke could have even extended the lead, but she missed the target from inside the area after collecting a loose ball in a corner-kick (71’). Three minutes later Athenea had a chance to score with a shot that was blocked by Adriana. Maya Yamamoto also had the chance to score the fourth goal, but she was unable to connect the ball after been assisted by Gaby (79’).

And Depor Ladies were going to pay a high price for those misses, because Real Sociedad tied again the actions, just when things were looking under control. Substitute Cecilia Marcos scored with a strong shot past Sullastres.

Striker Patri López entered for defender Cris in a desperate attempt to restore the lead. Gaby could have scored the winner in the last minute of the added time, but her shot was blocked by Adriana.
