The injuries are starting to hit Deportivo. Six players are out of the sessions due to physical problems, including 3 of the 5 centre-backs that Fernando Vázquez has working with the first team.

During the sessions the players are allowed to interact among each other, and for the first time in months, they can pass the ball to a partner of the same group or shot on target against a goalkeeper. But they still cannot enter into the changing room in order to shower. The players still need to arrive from home wearing their training kits and must leave the same way.

As a way of precaution, La Liga suggested to the clubs that each group of ten men must be composed by players of different positions. For example, if a team has three goalkeepers, then each one must be in a different group.  Thus, if someone tests positive for COVID 19 and the rest of the group is isolated, then the coaching staff will not have shortage of specific players for one position.

At Deportivo, it was a week in which Fernando Vázquez increased the level with double sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And as it could be expected, the muscle problems started to emerge. Last week, the team ended with the news that Eneko Bóveda felt injured after suffering a relapse from a muscle injury on his right leg.

And this week other four players feel down. Mujaid Sadick skipped the entire week of work due to a muscle problem on his right thigh. Meanwhile, three men ended the week with physical problems: Fabril’s right-back Jorge Valín (adductor), playmaker Emre Çolak (back pain) and centre-back Juan Rodríguez (hamstring).

Taking in mind that Michele Somma remain recovering from a knee surgery, Vázquez currently have three of his five centre-back out of the training pitch. New arrival Abdoulaye Ba and Javi Montero are the only centre-back available for now.
