LUCHO GARCÍA SIGNS FOR DEPOR

09 Sep 2020
Lucho García is the fourth signing for the season 2020/21. The Colombian goalkeeper signs a three-year contract after been released from Sevilla CF. He will be one of the six U-23 players at the first team.

Deportivo confirmed on Tuesday the signing of Luis Alberto 'Lucho' García. The 22-year-old goalkeeper is coming from Sevilla CF after ending his contract and pens a 3-year contract with the Galician club. He will be one of the six U-23 players that are mandatory at Segunda B.

Lucho García is Colombian, but also has a Spanish passport. He is a product of Rayo Vallecano that already has experience performing for Colombia U-20 and U-23. He has been playing for Sevilla Atlético since 2018. Last year he completed 11 appearances at Segunda B.

This is the second goalkeeper signed at the first team, and therefore it’s the first position to be closed at the squad. Richard Barral has had problems with the goalkeepers since his stage with Tino Fernández, and it shouldn’t be a coincidence that this is the first role to be completed. So far in the pre-season, coach Fernando Vázquez has been working with Alberto, Brea and Brais, now the trio will compete for a spot at Fabril.

Lucho Garcia is the fourth signing ahead of the season 2020/21. Previously Deportivo signed goalkeeper Carlos Abad, centre-back Borja Granero and midfielder Celso Borges.
