Deportivo already found four of the six U-23 players that need to be inscribed in order to compete at Segunda B. The last one to join the list is Iago Gandoy, who just renewed his contract.

Segunda B is considered to be a league in which new prospects are formed, that’s why the Spanish Federation forces all the participants to inscribe six U-23 players as regular members of the first team. And Deportivo already found four of the six U-23 that will be part of the senior squad.

The first one is Mujaid Sadick, the centre-back is 20 and is a fixed starter since the arrival of Fernando Vázquez. It has been commented that he has called the attention of other clubs, but his release clause (€10 million) will probably keep him at Depor’s squad.

Then Jorge Valín, the right-back is 20 and is training with the first team during the pre-season after making two appearances at Segunda División during the past campaign. In May of 2019 the defender signed a two-year renewal, deal that was the first one of former president Paco Zas at the club. Now the exit of David Simón is opening the door to him as Eneko Bóveda is the only competitor for the spot.

And the third and fourth spots were known between Tuesday and Wednesday. First the club announced the signing of Luis Alberto 'Lucho' García. The 22-year-old goalkeeper is coming from Sevilla CF after ending his contract and signed three-year contract with the Galician club.

One day later, the club announced that Iago Gandoy has signed a three-year contract extension. The midfielder ended his previous contract during the summer, Depor had the option to renew him for one season, but later the club decided to negotiate and pen a longer deal with better rewards for the player. Gandoy made three appearances at Segunda during last season, two with Anquela and once with Fernando Vázquez.

There are two slots that still available, and one of them could be for winger José Alonso Lara. He is 20 and Depor are negotiating a loan spell with Sevilla CF. The most probable thing is that the sixth spot will also be for a new signing.
