Penultimate week in the pre-season of Deportivo. The team played two friendly games and is having three injury cases affecting the team.

Deportivo lived the penultimate week in the pre-season with seven training sessions and two friendly games. It was a full week of work after the pause of last week due to the COVID-19 case that affected the first team.

Coach Fernando Vázquez continued working tactical aspects, though there were also a couple of long and demanding physical sessions. The team also played two friendly games against Tercera clubs, in both the coach presented a 4-4-2 formation, which seems to be the base for the regular season.

In the first friendly game on the week, Deportivo defeated CSD Arzúa behind closed doors at the Riazor (5-0). In the second, Los Blanquiazules left big doubts after a grey goalless draw visiting Bergantiños CF.

The number of players at the first team was raised to 19 after Uche Agbo signed a contract with Deportivo. Meanwhile, the team is facing three injury cases. Borja Galán skipped the whole week of work due to a muscle injury.

New signings Rui Costa and José Lara are also dealing with issues. Costa suffered a muscle injury in the friendly with CSD Arzúa and missed three training sessions plus the game with Bergantiños CF. In the case of Lara, he picked a muscle injury in the last session and wasn’t risked for the last friendly on the week.

Javi Sanmartín has also missed the whole week due to a muscle injury. He is one of the three Fabril’s outfield players that have worked with the team during the entire pre-season, the other two are Juan Rodriguez and Adri Castro. Goalkeepers Pablo Brea and Alberto have also worked with the team, but on this week they have trained with Fabril, actually they played with Fabril in Wednesday’s friendly against SD Compostela (1-1) and Saturday’s victory over UD Somozas (1-2).
