A clueless Depor Ladies was unable to create any danger against a rival that played at will. Crisis after the fifth defeat in five games.

Depor Ladies arrived as the bottom place at the standings, other two teams were pending to add points in this start of season, but the Galicians were the only ones that already had played four matches. Coach Manu Sánchez recovered Carolina Arbeláez, but Peke was still out due to illness.

The coach was a 4-4-2 with Ainoa Campo performing at midfield. Once again there was a rotation at the goal as Esther Sullastres was the starting goalie. Gaby García was benched, so the duo is attack was composed by Athenea del Castillo and Helena Torres.

Another por performance by Depor Ladies. Once again the team allowed a goal within the first minutes, later the gals were unable to create any danger and Real Madrid didn’t need too much to add the three points.

Real Madrid put pressure since the kick-off, in the previous four games Depor Ladies had conceded a goal before the mark of the twenty minutes, this time it didn’t arrive too soon, but it was only because the locals faced problems  to break Depor’s defence, and as soon as they found out the formula to do it, the goals started to arrive.

And that formula was to drill passes searching for the back of the defenders. The first time Real Madrid did it was  a drilled pass by ex-Depor Tere Abelleira that Kosovare Asllani didn’t seize in the one-one-one against Sullastres (17’). And then the goal arrived for Real Madrid. Sofia Jakobsson found the ball at the left side of the area and, after dribbling Patri López, she released a curved shot that went into the left-top corner of Sullastres.

Truly the Galicians had surpassed the mark of 20 minutes without allowing goals, but it was only surpassed by one minute and, as it happened in the first four games, the team fell down after conceding the first goal. The locals were looking more dangerous and the second goal arrived soon.

Before the goal, Depor Ladies had its first -and only- chance in a solo-play inside the area that ex-Depor Misa saved facing Helena Torres (24’). The second goal was a drilling pass of Cardona that Kosovare Asllani converted from the box.

The third goal could have arrived at minute 34, a bad pass at midfield ended with a drilling cross of Jakobsson after a long run, this time her cross wasn’t connected by any of the two players coming from the centre. Depor Ladies tried to get something within the final fifteen minutes, but their attacks ended in nothing as there was no spark and neither accuracy in the coordination of the plays.

Depor Ladies had its first opportunity in the second half after only 45 seconds, a long run of Athenea on the left ended with a drilling shot that was blocked by Misa. Two minutes later, Cardona had the first chance for Real Madrid, but her curved shot from the left side of the area went wide.

The game was following the path of the first half, Real Madrid were trying to damage with passes searching for the back of the defenders, while Depor Ladies continued to be a clueless team in offensive tasks. As soon as the Galicians were passing midfield territory, nothing was happening, because the passes were bad and it was clear there was no plan to attack the rival.

What was different in the half was that Depor Ladies were playing with the offside trap, something that gave some air to the defence. But what the team needed was goals, and the first changes were searching for it. Michelle Romero and Lía replaced Iris and Helena Torres.

The true is that the changes didn’t work, because Deportivo continued to be a lost team as soon as it had the ball in offensive positions. Meanwhile, Real Madrid started to look dangerous using a new method: long runs on both wings that ended in shots that missed the target

A good chance for the locals came at minute 75 and it took place using this method, a long run on the left wing ended with a shot of Jakobsson that was deflected by Sullastres, Cardona collected the loose ball and her strong shot was saved again by Depor’s goalie.

Manu Sánchez made the last two changes with Gaby and Eva Dios replacing Athenea and Alba Merino, but Depor’s only good play in this frame was a move of Lady Andrade eluding two rivals on the left wing, her cross was cleared  (85’).

Then the third goal arrived, a long pass from the defence was searching for Kosovare Asllani, Bedoya could have intercepted it, but the ball passed and the Swedish attacker scored in two attempts after the initial save of Sullatres.
