REVIEW: DEPOR LADIES 1 – ATLÉTICO 8 (LIGA)

23 Nov 2020
The nightmare continues. Depor Ladies is a dead team, without any idea to face the challenge of Liga Iberdrola and a factory of errors and goals conceded. This time the defeat was big against one of the favorites.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Manu Sánchez recovered Peke, who went directly into the starting eleven. But Michelle Romero didn’t recover in time from a knee knock. Kenni Thompson is already training with the team, but she wasn’t picked for the game. The coach presented the classical 4-4-2, and for the first time on the season, with the trident Gaby, Peke and Athenea in attack.

THE MATCH
Terrible presentation for Depor Ladies. The team was simply inexistent and by minute 4 it was already losing by two goals. The return of Peke didn’t have any impact and coach Manu Sánchez is already under fire for not bringing solutions to the problems.

The game couldn’t start worse for Depor Ladies, after only a few seconds a distraction between Stephannie Blanco and Ainoa Campo allowed Ludmila Da Silva to score from close range. And the second goal came soon, a cross from Leicy Santos was headed in by Ludmila, this time the error was of goalkeeper Noe Bermúdez, who should have blocked the attempt.

Two goals in four minutes and the game was already over. The goals just broke the already fragile morale of Depor Ladies, Atlético looked sharper and constantly attacked through fast transitions. Meanwhile, the locals had big problems trying to keep and ball and didn’t have any opportunity in the first half.

So, it was normal to witness the third goal from the Madrilenian team. It was a fast transition for the visiting side in which Ludmila Da Silva made the play on the left and her cross was connected by Venezuelan Deyna Castellano.

If the start of the first part was bad, then the start in the second was terrible. Only twenty seconds after the kick-off, keeper Noe Bermúdez failed in a back pass and Ludmila didn’t fail to score her hat-trick.

The game continued the path of the first half. Atlético was the side having the opportunities and Depor Ladies was simply a broken team. Ludmila showed up to score again, this time in a one-on-one play against Noe Bermúdez.

Depor Ladies found a goal in a defensive error by Atlético. Athenea del Castillo put pressure on Peyraud-Magnin, the keeper made a bad clearance and Athenea collected the loose ball and scored.

Before the local goal, Eva Dios replaced Peke, the bleeding continued and Atlético scored the sixth goal after substitute Emelyne Laurent crossed Noe Bermudez, before the end substitute Toni Duggan found the seventh goal with a crossed shot.
