THE LEGAL BATTLES AT DEPORTIVO

The last couple of seasons have been really busy for Depor's lawyers, that's because the club has been immersed in several legal fights, a big part of this trails have been won by Deportivo. <i>Depor Sport</i> and <i>Deporte Campe??n</i> calculates that Depor has saved between €19 and €21 million in this cases. But the latest information appoints that Depor has lost one important case, the one of Albert Luque.

The case between Deportivo and Espanyol for the arrival of Albert Lopo to La Coru?a has finally ended. The judge that was managing the case has decided that Depor shouldn't pay any amount to the Catalan club for the transfer of the defender.

According to a report presented by sportpaper <i>Marca</i>, Carlos Slim Jr. has contacted Deportivo in order to meet the characteristics of the Galician club, apparently he's valorising his entrance as a major shareholder of Depor. The father of Carlos Slim Jr., Carlos Slim Hel??, is considered by Fortune magazine as the richest man in the planet.

Although nothing was official, it was a thing that everybody knew. A new defeat at Almer?a would mean the imminent exit of coach Lotina, but despite the strong opposition of the board of directors at Deportivo, Lendoiro isn't thinking in firing the coach. Instead, he's negotiating the incorporations of the reinforcements that he has asked, a measure understood by Depor's president as the best solution to end the crisis.

The interest of the Canarian entrepreneur in Deportivo has been denied, the same Francisco Gonz??lez said to newspaper <i>La Opini??n A Coru?a</i> that this interest 'isn't true'. Meanwhile <i>Depor Sport</i> published an article in which the club is denying any contact with Gonz??lez.

Sportpaper <i>Deporte Campe??n</i> continued informing during Friday about the interest of Francisco Gonz??lez in buying Deportivo. For the moment, the Canarian entrepreneur hasn't talked about the offer. But the last report appoints that Vicente Boluda, one of Real Madrid's vice-presidents, is also involved in the operation.

It seems that president Lendoiro has already received a formal proposal in order to buy Deportivo. Paper <i>Deporte Campe??n</i> reported on Thursday that a Canarian entrepreneur is interested in the Galician club, the offer would reach €50 million for the 80% of Deportivo. The operation might take place in two months.

The mayor of La Coru?a, Javier Losada, has refused to listen the petitions of Lendoiro. Depor's president was trying to get the help of the city through the concession of the land in which the Riazor stadium is situated. The response of Losada is that the city will help the club, but only with 'legal' actions.

On Monday's night, there was a meeting between Lendoiro and Lotina in order to define the reinforcements for the squad, but before that, Lendoiro had a reunion with his advisors and the future of Depor's coach was discussed. At the end it was decided that Lotina will have two more games to correct the course of the squad, a defeat in those games will force his exit from Deportivo.
