A Coruña - Introduction

A Coruña - Home of Deportivo

Officially called A Coruña (Galician language) was for a while denominated in Spanish La Coruña (as you can read in the club's crest). Locals tend to avoid controversy calling it just "Coruña".

Located in northwest Spain, in the region of Galicia, this medium size city is famous for its beaches, seafood and its local football team: R. C. Deportivo La Coruña. With close to  250.000 habitants, it is the second largest city in the region after Vigo, home of the eternal rivals Celta de Vigo.

A Coruña is a modern city full of history, with many amenities that are worth a visit. There are more things going on apart from football that might interest you! Its symbolic landmark Torre de Hércules, the oldest working lighthouse in the world, shows the 2000 years of activity in this corner of Europe.
