Abegondo

As part of the new project at Deportivo, the club launched an ambitious plan to release its own sporting city. This complex is located in the municipality of Abegondo in La Coruña province. The sector in know for its pleasant weather and for its natural conditions. Depor's installations are referred as Abegondo or simply as "El Mundo del Futbol" (Football's world).

Abegondo was inaugurated in the year 2003 and consists in a series of pitches and training facilities were all Depor's squads work during a normal week. In some cases, like the one of Deportivo B, it's the place were the official matches take place. The installations consist in 14 pitches, a main building for the changing rooms, administration offices and a restaurant. The stands for the main pitch can hold 1,200 visitors and other 500 people can watch the matches at the artificial grass pitch.

The main building has two floors. The changing rooms, stores and installations rooms, including a gym, are located in the first floor. The general offices, press room, restaurant and general services are located in the second floor. The installations also possess a parking for 9,000 vehicles.

About the pitches, Abegondo has seven pitches of natural grass with the same dimensions of the Riazor (105 x 68 meters). The main pitch is used by Fabril for its official matches. Other pitch has the same dimensions of the Riazor, but it's made of artificial grass. The remaining six pitches are made of natural grass and the dimensions are the ones used in Futbol Siete -squads playing with seven players- (90 x 60 meters). The Futbol Siete pitches are commonly used by the youngest teams. Besides, Abegondo possess 16,000 square meters of auxiliary pitches. The natural grass pitches are commonly used by the "oldest" teams including Depor's first squad. In fact, Abegondo is the place where Deportivo's senior squad normally trains during the week.
