Cool Ex-Player topic: De Guzmán (Midfielder, now at FC Dallas)

Is this guy any good?

I haven't been able to see any German football this season!!

According to this he could be arriving in Galicia in the near future!!

It would be nice to think that we are chasing a midfielder, but I dont believe this report!
The article says that Depor were twice spanish champions.... not true!

However Depor has had good relations with Hannover so I wouldnt be suprised if he comes. I havent seen him play but Im glad we are looking toward younger players.

From planetfootball:

The two-times Spanish champions have failed to live up to the high expectations in Galicia this term and are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

two-times champions?

It's already said that Depor is searching for players who's contract runs out this summer.

I don't know anything about this player, maybe Jaime can tell us something

Julian de Guzman
Born: 25.03.1981 in Toronto

Age: 23
Height: 1,69 m

Nationality: Canada (Played 9 times for his national team...)
Plays with both feet, and according to transfermarkt. he is actually playing in the midfield on the left or right outside....

Last Season he played for Hannover 96 in 30 matches shooting 2 goals and giving 3 assists.

He received 4 yellow cards in the first quarter of this season, playing in 17 matches up to now and giving 2 assists without own goal.

Thats about what I found out quickly, I don't follow the Bundesliga so I got no idea how he is actually playing....

Since I don't have television (and watch only the matches of my club in pubs) I have never seen him live, so I cannot comment much..

What I heard though is that he is having a break-out season in Hannover, and is one of the main reasons why Hannover is so surprisingly high in the table...
Maybe you should ask SugaryTea for more information as de Guzman plays for the Canadian national team...

@Jorge, I cannot believe you don't follow the Bundesliga *shakeshisheadindisbelief*

Just read about this in the news page and I'm very surprised - it seems to have come out of nowhere!

I don't follow Bundesliga much either but he's been a regular for our senior national team for about three years now and I think he used to play in the Bundesliga second division but I don't remember the team name...

Although I imagine if he did come to Spain Depor maybe the tv channels here would find an excuse to show more Depor games!

Oh yeah, and when was the second time we won La Liga?

The Bundesliga starts playing on 21. January and if in tv they will be showing some of De Guzman i will try too watch it and write something about him, earlier he played in bundesliga second division in Saarbrucken or something like that, the Canadians have'nt got any great players letely so maybe its a good time to start it with Julian, and what do you think about Javi Fuego and Maldonado ??
