I'm looking forward to the start...
of the normal regular competitions!

The time that i cared about euro/wc games is long gone, and that's mainly caused by the trend to allow more and more countries. (same story for CL!)
The first 2/3 of all those competitions are worse than boring. Why we need all those games where 90% of outcome is defined in front?
Stop the madness of group-poules, 36 or more teams, and go back to regular old-school direct elimination (or just 1 round of group-poules but without the weak countries)

This new system allowed the participation of my homeland, Hungary. But unfortunately we will go home with 3 big defeats...
In these continental cups the players of the participant countries always looks tired, imo that's the reason why most of the games are boring.

you can never know. I consider we are one of the weakest teams, but with this German coach, we are gonna play catenaccio, so maybe some Greek-type result is gonna happen for us, just like it happened against Norway. And Dzsudzsák can score from free-kicks even from the Mars.

I'll be rooting for Portugal and Ireland, so I guess I won't be having much work... But hey, no glory hunters here being Depor fans, right? Pride and heart come first.

I guess putting energy in supportering Spain is one thing I'm not gonna do this year - did you see Del Bosque's 23? Old fool left Isco and Saul home but took Pedro and Cech...

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (FC Porto), David de Gea (Manchester United), Sergio Rico (Sevilla).

Defenders: Marc Bartra (Barcelona), Jordi Alba (Barcelona), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Hector Bellerin (Arsenal).

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Mikel San Jose (Athletic Bilbao), Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea), David Silva (Manchester City), Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich), Bruno Soriano (Villarreal), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona).

Forwards: Pedro Rodriguez (Chelsea), Alvaro Morata (Juventus), Aritz Aduriz (Athletic Bilbao), Manuel “Nolito” Agudo (Celta Vigo).

The selection of forwards looks really weird to me.. Would these guys score enough for Spain?

Rik, what did you drink? I want some! I dont get it how people can even get belgium to go through the first phase. They didnt win a real big game for a lot of years, and they're pure hype.
Sorry to hijack :P

My outside bet is Italy at 16/1. That's if they can get through the group with the mighty Rep. of Ireland in it. I think this will be the group of draws for all you gamblers out there. Like Xoan, I'm also in the Portuguese camp....and Iceland for the craic.

I bottled my prediction of Belgium after getting far too much negativity about them as a team. I think this is a very open tournament.

France must be up there as one of the favorites and have a great record at home tournaments.
Germany have had some dodgy results recently but always seem to find form in tournaments.
Spain are quite fancied but I don't think they're as strong as they were and I wonder if this latest "scandal" with De Gea will affect the mood.
England are always overhyped but I think they have quite an exciting young team for this tournament and although I don't think they can win it, I think they could do pretty well.
Italy are Italy. It wouldn't surprise me to see them in the semi's at least.
Portugal and Belgium are capable of doing very well in this tournament if they click. Portugal need to look at others to take the burden that Ronaldo carries and Belgium seem like they have some great individuals but can they gel together.
