Not much interest on the Monday game

Anw, Valencia beat Getafe by 2-1

Actually, it was rather interesting. Pedro Leon's jump into Alexis changed the game, but nicely held on by Valencia.

Haha yeah, it's weird that apparently Monday games are good for ratings. I always completely forget about Monday games, and I can't imagine I'm the only one with that problem

That tells you something about how important a solid defense is, doesn't it? Look at how Villarreal has the sixth best offense (35 goals) but the fifth worst defense (37 shipped).

That says everything about why we've been in the hunt for Europe at the moment, and why, if the defense stays consistent, we will most definitely end up in Europe.

It also tells you, that despite having non-existent offence we have still chances of Europe.

I don't know much about it but I know a lot of people don't like change (La Liga losing its identity, etc.). But when you think about it - it's moving one of the 5pm Sunday games to Monday night, allowing one more live game for the people to watch.

exactly! Not to mention those that need to arrange travels, hotels etc...

Besides, there are European and Copa games every week, from Tuesday to Thursday. That leaves just 2 non-football days, Monday and Friday! Setting games, in the those 2 days as well, is overwhelmingly much football, that could lead fans losing interest and anticipation for the forthcoming games.

Does anyone know how they choose which team plays on a monday?
Obviously this is subject to midweek cup games but is there some sort of criterea where the team has to be a top 4 side or anything like that?

Kinda like how Real and Barca never play at the same time

They try to put one of the six top teams on Monday, that seems to be the rule, but I don't know if Real and Barca will someday play on Monday.
