the scorer of the winner at München for Mainz is the Hun, Szalai. He was related to us 1 year ago in the winter-window, if I remember well. Rik and co. have seen him in RM Castilla, and had similar bad opinion like me. NOw he is the star of Bundesliga....

Nice come-back for Schalke, and they overtook Stuttgart at pos. Nr. 17 ....

Yeah, I have to admit that I'm tempted to try and find a stream the next time they play because I'm intrigued to see Szalai now. I didn't see too much potential in him before, so he's either improved vastly or has just been in the right place at the right time for Mainz. Either way, Depor could do with a goalscorer now, however they go in.

I heard a radio interview last night where a reporter said that the Mainz coach uses his youth team to simulate the characteristics of their next opponents in the Bundesliga every day in training before the game.

The objective is to know exactly what way the opponent will play at the weekend and to put a plan in place during the trainings to overcome those tactics. As well as focusing in great detail on one game at a time, it also gives the youth players invaluable experience working with the first team and understanding different tactics, formations, etc.

As simple as it sounds, I haven't heard of any coach in any top-class league using that approach before.

Szlazai seems to have hit the ground running at Mainz. Tonight he played for Hungary and scored a hattrick within 48 minutes. Admittedly, it was against San Marino but still, it's still a decent statistic.

Mainz-Dortmund 0-2!!!

Dortmund is the boss in Bundesliga!!

Btw, there's a curious historical stat, that every time that a team started with 7 wins in Bundesliga (this season it was Mainz), in the end Dortmund got the title

So Szalai (is) stopped.

Has someone seen Sam's goal for Leverkusen against Lautern? It was like Zidane's one in the 2002 CL final, but even from more fareness.

Bremen is in great form, receiving 6 goals from a relegation candidate
