Thought Lucas was different but it turned out that he was just another badge kissing wanker.

I don't doubt his love for us, but €10M (net) for 4 years is too much money, I must admit. Considering Lucas Pérez career and age, it was now or never...

I'm sure it's not only for the money, but also the fact he can play Champions and for a big European club like Arsenal, with great players like Alexis or Özil. He could adapt a bit easier with several Spanish players in the squad, like Cazorla, Bellerín or Monreal. If the offer had been from West Brom, Crystal Palace, or even from Everton or Leicester, he surely had stayed. But Arsenal, that was just irresistible for him, sadly.

Best of lucks, Lucas, and thanks a lot for your goals, for your passion, and specially for the big illusion you created among Depor fans these last years. I really hope you come back for us some day, sooner or later.

Best wishes Lucas.

Nice to see a couple of smaller clubs from A Coruña benefiting from the transfer fee.

Great statement. Atletico Arteixo is my hometown club besides Depor and even though 100,000 may not seem like a lot to a normal club, to a small club it is HUGE. With Depor being the only main team in the area, stronger feeder clubs will only help in the long run and injections of 300 and 100k to 2 clubs who produce decent players already will be great for facilities/training that will only help those top kids get to Abegondo.

I have read some terrible comments about him from so called fans on Twitter and Facebook. I think if you want the best for Depor, then you can understand and accept this transfer.
Of course I am very sad to lose our home grown icon, the guy who had the balls to score some lovely goals against some of the best teams in la liga.
But with our current financial predicament, we could not turn down that offer.
And am sure that was a factor for him leaving us also, even though Arsenal is a big club who can pay him the wages that we cant. I just hope that we invest that money wisely. I know we secured Sidnei for 6.5m, I just hope we dont go out and spend another 3 or 4m on an Oriol or Taborda for example.

All the best to Lucas and I hope he returns to us in the future.

You've reminded me of this quote
