Default The Positive Thread - No Negativity Allowed

We've got an "Official Rant Thread" and it's hard to even celebrate a rare home victory without having people try and bring the mood down with their "reminders" that we're still not actually safe.

This thread is just for those of us that want the right to celebrate our small victories and absolutely no negative comments are allowed and could be deleted (That includes any comments designed to provoke an argument/debate)

To start, I'd just like to say that the weekend has been a really good one IMO.

It was great to see the club lower prices to get more people into the Riazor and also a nice touch by the Riazor Blues and other fans to support the squad as they left their hotel.
For the first time in 4 months, we won at home and we also scored 3 times, which is a huge improvement.
The victory also now means that we're back within 2 pts of safety which of course is only 1 game if results go our way.

To cap the weekend off nicely, we saw the return of Juan Carlos Valeron, a Depor Legend. Match fitness is completely different to training but with 10-15 minutes every so often, and then maybe increasing, we should hopefully see El Flaco back starting within the next month or so.

Thank you Depor for reminding me how to smile and putting an extra bit of warmth in my heart.

Today is a much better day to be a Blanquiazul

What can I say..

I won with indoorsoccer, with my amateur soccer against the leaders (we are last placed), Depor won AND Valeron returned..
Impossible to be negative with these facts

It's days like this when i pity those unfortunate souls that cheer for another team than Depor. What fun they miss.

And that's not even mentioning those zaps without any team at all.

Anyway, great night, I'll happily leave it at that.

I was going to merge this with the good thread but it's too tainted with negativity, so I'm keeping this positive

Brilliant & Fantastic. Deportivo won at Riazor after 114 days, Got 3 crucial points, proved they can score more than 3 goals a game in a win, used a tactic that I think would be fantastic for the rest of the season, and we all finally got to see the return of Valeron. What a great day!

And to boot it is snowing where I am right now...It's awesome!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

This victory was really what we needed! We closed the hole, which means a win next week would at least put us with the same amount of points with a few teams outside relegation zone.

Depor's three goals against Valladolid was the second time this amount was scored this season (but the match at Villarreal was lost 4-3...). Last year the final match of the season ended with a 1-3 victory at Espanyol, when it didn't matter.

The last time Deportivo scored three goals, and it mattered, was in Riazor on 27 August 2006 (17 months ago!).

In the season 2005/2006 the team scored three goals on 4 occasions:
15/10/2005 Deportivo 3 - Barcelona 3
26/10/2005 Deportivo 3 - Real Madrid 1
20/11/2005 Racing 0 - Deportivo 3
17/12/2005 Celta 0 - Deportivo 3

Last year’s Liga topscorer of Deportivo was Arizmendi with 5 goals. Second were Juan Rodriguez and Capdevila each with 4 goals. This year we already have equalized Arizmendi’s score with the 5 goals of Guardado. In fact, with the 4 goals of Xisco and 3 goals of Riki we have many options to improve the individual stats compared to last year. After 38 matches last year the first three goalscorers had 13 goals. Now, after 21 matches, the first three already have 12 goals.

After 21 matches last year, we had scored just 16 goals and leaked 25. Our production now has increased with 38% to 22 goals this season. In fact, scoring goals doesn’t seem to be the real issue if we compare our numbers to other teams:
- Betis (23 goals)
- Osasuna (23 goals)
- Deportivo (22 goals)
- Racing (22 goals)
- Valencia (22 goals)
- Athletic (19 goals)
- Murcia (19 goals)
- Almeria (18 goals)
- Recreativo (17 goals)
- Levante (16 goals)

Despite having lost Capdevila (to Villarreal), Jorge Andrade (to Juventus) and Arbeloa (to Liverpool) since then (and we only signed Aythami) while Lopo only played his fifth match of the season against Valladolid, the amount of goals leaked only has increased with 32%.
