Default Ex-Depor coach: Javier Irureta

He's been our most succesful manager in history. He's the Ex-Celta Boss. but is all well in the locker room? are our players 100 percent behind him? are We , the fans happy with his tactics? well, are ya?

true that he makes mistakes that cost us dearly, but everyone makes mistakes. if he goes, who will replace him? anyone reliable enough for this heavy responsibility? :|

I think we should support our manager who has brought us so much success. Irureta's objectives are to achieve a Champions League place in La Liga, he will do it: why should he leave? It's Irureta who makes the players act like a team.
Who would replace him? Fernandez who's a loser? Ramos who sucks in Segunda? Aragonés who only loves his dear Atlético and isn't tactically anything special?
We can criticise Irureta but not be ungrateful and say he should leave.. ops:

Default Irureta

I think Irureta has been doing a good job since coaching Santander.. I´d like to keep Irureta for a couple of seasons at least...

Croat (but I could't log in)

Irureta is best coach in Spain, and I belive he is best solution for Depor in this moment, but i herad from my friend from La Coruna that is very small chances(around 10%) that he will be coach of Depor next season.

i think that irureta won't stay here next season, he's one of the best coaches in the world, but fans criticise him and i don't know why. the team reached copa's semifinal, are in the top teams of liga but had some bad games in champions league, but look at roma or bayern. I would love irureta to stay, but he won't be here next season, that's for sure, so what we gonna do ? that's the question i would ask

That's an easy questions! Jabo should stay... In 1998 we were still that funny club from Nothern Spain who had won a Copa del Rey. Now we have won a Liga, another Copa, two Supercopas and had three seasons of excellent Champions League campaigns. And under Irureta we have finished sixth, first, second, second and probably among the first three this season.... FORZA JABO!

Default some people that think here

I agree almost with everything that you guys wrote. Jabo is the best coach in Spain, who brought us to europe and many players from depor, like Makaay, Tristan, Valeron... developed into great players under his lead.I think if he stays it will continue that way so FORZA JABO AND DEPOR FOREVER!! 8)

yes it's true that every club would have its manager leave or retire one day, but irureta seems to be only willing to take one season at a time after his initial 4 or 5 year contract ran out.

he seems unwilling to commit to a long term contract... subtly implying that (1) he may not feel very confident about the club OR (2) he is keeping his options open for a possible managerial rendezvous outside spain.

on the other hand, he is indeed the most successful manager depor ever had, so we have to give him credit for that. for the players he brought in and nurtured, the trophies and all... leading to pleasant memories for the supporters.

we cannot insist that he stay, nor should we drive him away. but a objective question: IF jabo leaves, who is fit to take over?

by this i don't mean that i want jabo out, i'm just exploring the possibilities.

I've heard that Mane of Alaves might take over.

Yes, indeed. Mane has a wonderful season with Alaves, conceding at least 4 goals in a match.

True. Another loser. I think he'll rather take over a Segunda side than one of Europe's best teams.

Well, the topic whether Jabo should stay or go gets into a "who can take his job?" discussion... Well, it's part of it. If there would be 10 good substitutes it would be different, but there aren't.... The only coach I can think is that guy of Murcia, I forgot his name... He's Galician and has played for Deportivo, and his side really impress me...

FORZA DEPOR

yes, leon is right. Or Jabo or that man from Murcia, but he has no experience, taht's the problem. The best would be if jabo will be right there where he is
