The training area in Abegondo did cost a lot, but we should see the benefits in 4-5 years time, when we can hopefully produce some quality home grown talent.

How I undestood Lendoiro during the press conference yesterday the REAL TRUE DEBT is only about 28 Mill €, as the club still has to get more then 100 Mill € from debitors ?!?!

Did I catch that right? I have to search through canaldeportivo.com again I think.....

I also think that some of the debt is due to long time paying period of for example Sergio. So some of the money is included interest.

If Depor still has to receive some 100 mill €, than it's ok. We can get back to business, and we can afford to buy Mascherano.

No we can't. Jorge did hear right, but this is long term. Depor has a long time to pay it back, but the others also have a long time to pay Depor back.

But this changes things a lot... I did not know Depor still has to receive more then 100 M. Euros.. Even though it's a long term amount, this means Depor can repay the debts with this money. The only disadvantage is the fact that Depor can't do big investments in short term, unless new financial resources come up.

I also read that Lendoiro announced there is no bait to fish when he was asked about possible reinforcements in the winter. But he played with the media, like always, as he also said there might be a surprise on 28 December.. He'll never change

Here's the point of Lendoiro:

Debts of Deportivo:

Long term = €98,877,492.86
Short Term = €63,575,091.91
Total = €162,452,584.77

The club have also:

Accounts to receive = €125,041,260.26
Investments = €3,191,492.86
Treasure = €6,578,768.02
Total = €134,811,521.14

This money is supposed to be useful in the short term.

A simple operation: What I have in debts (€162,452,584.77) - What I have in money (€134,811,521.14) = €27,641,063.63

That's why he said that Depor have in debts 'only' €28M

yeh our net debts are 28 million, however at the moment its alot as we dont have the money from our debtors (accounts receivable) this is not actually a good thing at all, im studying this at the moment in my accounting degree - but i suppose its better than having 163 million in short term debt

so overall our club isnt that bad, but thats looking at the big picture - unfortunately sometimes (like in the case of buying players) u have to look at short term debts...

28 million Euros sounds bad, but better than 100+
With that background, I hope we won't make any signings this winter, because I prefer a healthy economy over a huge gamble with over-paying players and the following pressure to make it to the CL etc..

Well it looks like in fact it's a 28 mill long term debt..........
But we need to get back in Champions League, for that brings profit.

This worries me as much as before. The debt IS 162 mil. Lendoiro is saying the projected revenues from the next five or six seasons will cover all but 28 mil. That money will still have to be produced through transfer profits, abnormally good CL results, and/or better marketing. And I think a quality signing or two is needed in the next year.

I trust our chairman, but I hope he has a good plan.

Sorry I didn't read the last page before I posted. Is the money to be received projected income for the next few years or money already owed to Depor by other clubs independent of our normal yearly income?
