Default Depor's new coach?

I don't think that such a topic would be out of place now. I'm among those who think that Lotina may go, must go! It's too hard a gamble to risk the future of the club just on the position of a (fairly new) coach.

But... who are possible succesors? Realistic ones? What have they proven already? Are they available? Not too expensive? Do they fit our needs and can they bring the continuation of Depor's legacy?

Go ahead and speculate, cause it could become the most actual issue in very short time

I have no names yet...

I think we have to stick with Lotina for the time being..
He has finally realised almost half way through the season, that we play better with 2 up front... Halleluyah... the penny has finally dropped.
It pisses me off that players like Lafita, Verdu, Sergio... who have played really poorly, have had so many games.. and the likes of Felipe, Ruben, A.thomas had to wait so long for a chance, and they have played very well!
Adrian & P.Alvarez could also bring something extra to the team... but they are not given a chance.

IMO we have to wait and see who comes in (transfers) in January, and see if we can get a few wins under our belt.

The injury to M.Pablo has Come at the worst possible time for us, I just pray that Lopo & P.Amo return as soon as possible from injury... especially Lopo who was our player of the year last season.

Playing with 2 up front should bring more goals... I never understood why we played with 1 striker for so long, when we were not winning games!

Its been pretty evident that its taken Lotina 16 games to find his almost ideal 11..

But i feel that we have to stick with him & continue to play attractive football, but we must also learn how to win the battle in midfield, and stop conceeding sloppy goals..

We need to all stick together and help push the team forward.

Well, he did try the 4-4-2 several times. Right on the first matchday against Almería, do you remember? And then he tried it again in our home match against Recreativo which was probably our worst match of the season so far. And when he put a second forward on against Racing and Mallorca it obviously did not work.
I think he was quite right to stick to the 4-2-3-1 because we improved quite a lot when he started using it and started to play some good football. However, that was when Verdú was in a good shape. Playing with one striker and a playmaker, we seem to be depending on Verdú's form which is why we'd be better off with a 4-4-2 for the moment, at least until we find a reliable playmaker.
I can't really seem to find any major mistakes of Lotina. We are definitely playing better than last year but somehow seem to lack something to achieve points. I guess it's mainly down to a lack of quality in the offensive sector. Verdú, Cristian and Xisco may all be talented but they need proven Primera players alongside them, and so does Guardado.
To summarise, of course Lotina has to be sacked if we can't get back on track within the next matchdays. But the question remains whether another coach would improve things without any spectacular signings.

This 1 upfront, 2 upfront stuff really pisses me off.

Barca play with 3 upfront, Arsenal play with 2 upfront (sometimes 1) and Roma play with 1 upfront (and Totti's not even a real striker). What all these sides have in common is that they play great football. I personally would like to see more of Ruben or Adrian but by playing 2 upfront doesn't necessarily mean that we'll score more goals and be more attacking.

It's our style of play that is more important. If we play with a lone striker we can't just launch long balls forward all day long, we must move the ball with pace, keep possesion, play patiently etc. but it seems to me that we can't sustain any sort rythmn when we play this way. Usually this season we have played in a laxidasical manner and it doesn't matter how many players we have upfront, we simply will lose more than we win.

We must play with pace and at a high tempo because I feel that this plays to our strengths but whether Lotina wishes to play this way is another thing.

I always thought that too, but if we lose against Levante I think his job is seriously in danger. At some point, I think Lendoiro will use every way to let the club he raised stay in Primera.

Lotina won't be fired even if we lose at Levante.

if we dont react now, there is no time to react later. We'll do a Celta and go down with another Stoickov?

It remains very simple: Lendoiro doesn't really have a Plan B.

...Because he will not find a good coach who accepts to work with our (limited) squad...

I feel we are learning more about the team with each game.. we need to take the positives from the Zaragoza game and apply that from now on.
A.Thomas will improve our midfield given time, he is a better athlete and is more hungry than Sergio. I also think we are missing Duscher.. but lets see if we can bring in another central midfielder in January.
The right midfield spot has still not been sorted out, but at least Christian runs all day for the team.. we do need a more attacking player in that position, who can deliver crosses.
Upfront, hopefully Ruben & Xisco can develop a partnership, and deliver the goals... Lopo is the 1 player I feel we really are missing. He has a massive presence in defence and plenty of experience in Primera.
