Default Segunda | Alcoyano v Depor | Oct 08 | 22h00 (CET) | pre-match

Second visit to Alcoyano playing for the league

1950-51 CD Alcoyano 0 - 1 RC Deportivo
1948-49 CD Alcoyano 1 - 0 RC Deportivo

I doubt anyone on here remembers those games

Again we will have a lot of casualties, including Bodipo who will be playing with his NT. Mexico isn't playing during the weekend, so Guardado will play.

I like the bit about missing out Bodipo for this game!

Depor is so strong, that even national players have no chance to gain (more than) minutes here

Correction: Guardado won't player, because he will be concentrated with Mexico since Wednesday.

A guess its a good opportunity the give minutes to the fringe players:
Lux, Rochela, Seoane, Juan Carlos and Morel.
Xisco should be available for this game.

Who do you think will cover his position here? I mean ideally if Bruno Gama was healthy, we'd put Salomao on the left and Gama on the right, but he hasn't played a minute this season. Are either P Alvarez or Saul ready yet? I honestly don't like either, but I don't think we have anyone else unless we bring up some Fabril player.

With Guardado with his national team and Saul, B. Gama, P. Alvarez and Morel out of the group at this moment, I think that maybe Seoane and Laure would have a chance there, one of them playing as a wingback and the other one in midfield.

Btw, Seoane did it quite well last match, and Laure has already played in midfield this season few minutes.

I would probably start like this:

Lux
Seoane
Colotto
Rochela
Ayoze
Alex B
J. Vazquez
Solomao
Juan Dominguez
Juan Carlos
Xisco

With Guardado, P. Alvarez, Gama all out injured, I'm sure Juan Dominguez could play left midfield for this match.
Bench: Valeron, Lassad, Aythami, Laure, Aranzubia.

That could be a probable line-up for the Copa match, but first next saturday we'll play the Liga match, the Copa match will be next wednesday 11.

So I'd bet for: Aranzubía, Ayoze, Colotto, Aythami, Laure, Seoane, A. Bergantiños, J. Vazquez, Salomao, Valeron, Lassad.

Yeah, he played there and scored a goal, I believe. I think we'll see Laure in that position.

You are absolutely right .. I was thinking about the Copa game when writting that post.

Your starting 11 is how Oltra will play IMO .. with either Laure or Seoane playing in right midfield.

Good news that it seems Ze Castro and Riki could be available for this match. Riki already trained today with the group, and Ze Castro will do the same tomorrow.

Now a funny anecdote about C.D. Alcoyano, our next rival and also called Depor by their fans. The thing is they are well known for a popular spanish saying: "You have more moral than Alcoyano." This used to be applied to somebody too optimistic, or that never give up. There are 2 historic explanations, not contradictory:

1- This could be because their seasons in Primera Division (only 4, in 40's-50's) were always agonizing, filling the last places in the table and struggling to avoid relegation. But despite that, they always showed great confidence in the salvation of the team, which crashed into the general opinion (only once Alcoyano got the permanence).

2- It could have its origin in a particular match, where they were losing by 0–13 at home (the figure is not clear) but never gave up, still trying hard to score at the end of the match, and despite that, the team strongly protested against the referee because he had whistled the end of the game a minute before the corresponding.

Riki, Saul and Ze Castro could be available next saturday against Alcoyano.

Riki (press conf.): I was preparing a long time, but last week the doctors and I agreed to stop a bit and take it easy, because of what had happened with previous injuries. I didn't mind waiting a bit longer, and I feel good. I am available to play from the beginning.

Saul (twitter): Good afternoon everyone! Today I made my first full practice with the team and without any problem! I'm very happy! I hope to help the team as soon as possible and return to enjoy in the pitch! Today begins a great season for me! Thank you all! Forza Depor
