West Ham United have completed the signing of Yossi Benayoun after the Israeli playmaker was granted a work permit.

The Premiership new boys were fully expecting Benayoun to secure the necessary paperwork due to his standing in the Israel national team.

With the work permit issue now resolved, Benayoun has tied up the formalities of his move from Racing Santander.

The Hammers have paid the Spanish club £2.5 million, with Benayoun signing a four-year deal at Upton Park, after also attracting the interest of Everton and Bolton.

Benayoun will be looked upon to supply the ammunition for the West Ham strikers this season after manager Alan Pardew admits he was chasing a creative talent for his squad.

"He's a player with flair, who will be able to open the door for us when teams sit deep," said Pardew.

"We needed a player like that and at 25-years-old he is a great signing for the club."

Say him play yesterday.. and he had a brilliant game for West ham....Great vision, very direct play and showing plenty of skills, looks like we have let another class player slip away!

he only cost £2.5m!
