Default My Live Depor Game Experience

As promised, here is my first live Depor game experience:

My wife and I landed in Porto on Friday, Jan 13. I got to see the Dragao (not a fun memory). We spent the night downtown.

The next morning, we drove 3 hours to A Coruna. You can feel you are home the moment you get there! We checked in at the "Riazor Hotel". Amazing ocean view for an unbelievably cheap price! We went for a walk around the stadium to pick up the game tickets. We walked into an office, and found ourselves in front of a counter with nobody to talk to. We looked left and right, and took the stair leading downstairs. To our surprise, we found all of the VIP palcos! We just had to push a door that was open, and to our surprise, we were in, looking at stadium from the inside, with nobody around! That was a magic moment for me! We spent about 5-10 min there, and run away before we got caught. I had to make a stop at the Deportienda to pick up a Jersey and a scarf.

Two hours before the game, we went in front of the stadium entrance to welcome the players (Pato is not as tall as I though he would be). That moment lasted for less than 15 min. We had over 1.5 hours to kill, so we went to the Riazor Blues bar across the street.

Game time. Stadium is pretty much full, and Depor is all over Villareal with some pretty good chances from Colak and Andone. Everybody is swearing at Marlos for being useless on the field, while praising Guilherme for the way he controls the midfield. That guy is pretty impressive to watch play live.

Second half. Pressure is rising. The team started to pressure higher, and more chances started to come. Cross from Borges, bicycle kick from Andone that hits the post. Corner from Colak, header from Joselu, and incredible save from Asenjo. It wasn't meant to be the night I was going to see a Depor win at the Riazor.

Overall, an amazing experience, an amazing city and an amazing team. I am proud to be a Depor fan...

I hope every deportivista will have the chance to go to a Depor game at the Riazor. On my end, I will definitely try to make it there again!

Sounds like you had a blast. Pity about the result - if that overhead attempt from Andone had gone in....
How was the city, the food, the people, etc.?

The city was amazing. I can see myself living there no problem (maybe in retirement who know). The people are super friendly and helpful, and you can tell everybody has a passion for Depor. Food was great too. We tried one of the Turkish restaurants in town (there are lots), and had some fish at the Maria Pita place.

Hopefully one day everybody from this forum can get together at the Maria Pita place to celebrate another title!!!
