Fabril debut on Sunday visiting Fuenlabrada. The team is returning to Segunda B for the first time in seven years. Only ten lads from last season are staying at the squad.

On Sunday, Fabril visit CF Fuenlabrada in the debut of the team at Segunda B. It’s the return to this league after seven years at Tercera with a new squad and with the same coach: Cristobal Parralo. The new team inscribed for the Segunda B season is composed by 19 players, though Parralo was training with 21 lads as playmaker Aarón Sánchez and centre midfielder Alejandro Pais “Sito” were working with the team during the pre-season (Aarón also trained with the first team in the first days of the stage).

It was expected that Aarón were going to be loaned to Laracha CF, but the playmaker felt more excited about an offer coming from Racing Ferrol and the club allowed to release him. This is only one of several tough decisions that the sporting direction has been forced to make in order to prepare the new season, this since there are lads that need minutes, but they won’t get them with Fabril, so the decision is between release them, leave them at Juvenil A or to send them loaned to other clubs.

On this season there’s the advantage of the collaboration deal with Laracha CF, a Tercera club that will serve as a transition for the Juvenile players that want to perform later at Segunda B, it’s also a destiny for “veterans” that need minutes. So far, Depor already sent five players on loan there (Ángel, José Leobalde “Chema”, Adrián Castro, Famoussa Kanoute & Iago Novo).

About the 19 players that are inscribed for the Segunda B season, ten of them are lads that clinched the promotion on last season, one was promoted from Juvenil A: goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. The remaining eight players are new signings: Centre-back Steve Aldo One (22), left-back Diego Caballo (23), centre midfielders Gaizka Martínez Navarro (20) and Raúl González Valls (24), playmakers Jorge Romay (27) and Martín Bengoa Diez (22), plus strikers Uxío Dapena (27) and Luis Miguel Redondo “Luismi” (19).

The only reported payment for a transfer was made for keeper Álex Cobo, who arrived on loan during last season. The sporting secretariat was happy with his performance and fulfilled the buyout option over him (€45,000 paid to Lleida Esportiu). But the team is not closed yet, Jardel is not expected to have too many minutes and is expected that he will be loaned to a Tercera club, before the club will have to sign another striker.

During the pre-season, the team played seven friendly games, three of them were for Copa Diputación. Fabril started defeating Viveiro (4-0) and Somozas (1-0) in a double feature with each game lasting 45 minutes, then it drew with Laracha CF and SD Compostela (both 1-1 draws).

In Copa Diputación, the team defeated Laracha CF (2-0) and Miño (3-1). Then, in quarterfinals, it was eliminated by CCD Cerceda. The game ended 1-1 and in penalties the team lost 3-4. In the middle Fabril drew with Real Madrid Castilla in a friendly played at the Riazor (1-1).

List of players for the season:
Goalkeepers: Álex Cobo & Francis

Midfielders: Carlos López, Edu Expósito, Queijeiro, Raúl González, Gaizka Martínez, Martín Bengoa, Romay & Óscar ‘Pinchi’
