Good result for a Fabril that came back in the score visiting one of the candidates for the playoff spots. Uxío and Óscar scored the goals.

After almost a decade, Fabril were returning to Segunda B with the goal of clinching the permanence. Coach Cristobal Parralo remains at the job and arrived to the meeting with doubts in the squad, this since he is waiting for more attackers. Edu Expósito was concentrated with the first team for the home game with Real Madrid.

The lineup was a 4-2-3-1 with Álex Cobo covering the goal, Blas Alonso performed at the right-back position, Steve One and Quique Fornos were the centre-backs, Lucas Viña performed on the left. Carlos López and Álvaro Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Martin Bengoa attacked from the right wing, Borja Galán did it from the left, Jorge Romay was the playmaker and Uxio Dapena was the centre forward.

The rival was CF Fuenlabrada, a club from Madrid with the goal of playing the promotion playoff; actually, they played it on last season. The team is coached by Antonio Calderón and has important players like Luis Milla and Dioni, the latter is the former Pichichi of Fabril.

Two very different halves in the debut at Segunda B, in the first Fabril was a thick team unable to complete a shot on target before a willful rival, the roles were exchanged in the second part and Depor’s lads took the advantage to score twice and clinch their first victory of the campaign.

Fabril didn’t complete a shot on target in the first part, the team was too thick up front and committed a huge error in defence, it was Fornos, who tried to pass the ball to Álex Cobo and instead assisted Luis Milla, then the attacker beat the keeper with a low shot.

That was the first of the two big chances had by Fuenlabrada in this half, meanwhile Fabril was having the ball possession, but wasn’t creating any harm. There was a cooling break at minute 30 due to the high temperature, and Parralo took advantage of it exchanging the positions of Borja Galán and Romay.

It worked out as Fabril started to have more presence in attack, the best chance of the visiting team in the first half was a play of Borja Galán at the left wing that ended with a cross that Uxío missed by inches (32’). Then Dioni wasted a great chance to score after a combination inside the box, but he missed the target (38’).

The second half saw a different Fabril, the team had more depth and the equalizer arrived soon. Romay made the play on the right wing, he released a cross that Uxío Dapena met at the far post to head the ball home.

The goal sunk Fuenlabrada and Uxío scored again after heading a long pass from the left, but it was ruled out for offside. Then Óscar replaced Romay ad the winger was going to score only one minute later.

Martín Bengoa assisted him on the left wing, then the winger eluded a rival, entered the area and beat local goalie Pol Freixanat with a strong and crossed shot from the corner. Fabril had turned the tide and Parralo secured the game with the entries of Raúl González and Gaizka Martínez, both new signings.

A reaction was expected from Fuenlabrada, but the true is that Fabril didn’t suffer within the last fifteen minutes, the locals didn’t create any harm despite having four corner-kicks and one lateral free-kick in this frame of the meeting.

First victory on the season for Depor’s lads and it took place visiting one of the favourites for the playoff positions.  The team came from behind after a poor first half. On next Sunday, Fabril host another Madrilenian team, San Sebastián De Los Reyes, at Abegondo (12h00 CET)

Comments by Parralo: “The true is that there was uncertainty, because we haven’t played too many games at a high level. We wanted to see the performance of the team. I am happy with the work and sacrifice of the players, but it’s also true that there were phases in the game in which we had too many imprecisions. We need to improve and maybe those faces could have sentenced the meeting. In the second half, we fixed some things and we seized the opportunities that we had. We are content as these are three valuable points.”
