Parralo recovers Bruno Gama and Luisinho, while Cartabia was operated and will return until February. The rival is leading la liga with authority.

One of the toughest games of the season arrives with the visit to FC Barcelona (Camp Nou, Sunday 20h45). Deportivo arrive to the last stretch of the first round without a solid difference with the relegation zone. They need points, but are also aware that this is the worst place to search for them. Coach Cristóbal Parralo is having two casualties for the game.

At the beginning of the week, Fede Cartabia was operated from a groin injury and will be on the sidelines for two months. The other casualty is right-back Gerard Valentín. He suffered an injury during a training session and the scans confirmed that it is a grade I muscle injury on his right thigh. He’ll miss the last two games in 2017.

At the same time, Parralo is recovering left-back Luisinho (hamstring) and right winger Bruno Gama (muscle). Both have been out for almost a month and received the medical okay to play on Friday and therefore are available for the game at the Camp Nou.

FC Barcelona face the meeting in a sweet moment, they are one of the two teams that remain undefeated in liga and are pleasantly leading the competition after winning 12 of the 15 games played so far. Also, and for the first time in months, their players don’t have to face a game in midweek, so they can be fully focused in Depor and later in the upcoming clasico with Real Madrid.

Coach Ernesto Valverde is having three casualties for the meeting. Forward Ousmane Dembélé has been out for two months due to a torn hamstring injury, the Frenchman completed the training session on Thursday and already said that he is ready, but the coaching staff will wait until next week as the Catalans face the derby with Real Madrid.

The other two confirmed casualties are centre-back Samuel Umtiti (muscle) and centre midfielder Rafinha Alcántara (knee), duo that won’t be available until the new year. Rafinha is already training with the team, but needs time in order to gain fitness.

Meanwhile, Centre-back/midfielder Javier Mascherano is returning from a muscle problem, but isn’t sure if he will be picked for the game as he is close to be signed by a Chinese club. Playmaker Andrés Iniesta skipped the game against Villarreal CF due to a though injury, but will be available against Depor.
