Double signing on Saturday for Depor as the Galicians are getting right-back Eneko Bóveda and Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksím Kóval. The first arrives as a free agent, the second arrives loaned from Dinamo Kiev with Depor having a buyout option.

Deportivo announced late on Saturday the first two signings in the winter window. The first one is right back defender Eneko Bóveda (29). The second is Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksím Kóval (25). Both men arrive on Sunday to A Coruńa and will complete the medicals on Monday.

Bóveda is a product of Athletic Club’s academy, like the case of Albentosa, he was part of the team that clinched straight promotions with SD Eibar from Segunda B to Primera, he covers the right-back position and can also perform as a centre-back.

The Basque man is considered a defensive fullback, something that Parralo was requesting as the current options for the position are more offensive (Juanfran and Gerard Valentín). He returned to Athletic Club for the campaign 2015/16 and was constant in the lineups, bun in this league season he only made six appearances (523 minutes), this since Íńigo Lekue has been the starting choice.

So, the defender agreed to rescind his contract with the Basque club, something that happened on Friday. One day later Deportivo were announcing his arrival. He should be available for the home clash against CD Leganés.

Meanwhile, more surprising was the arrival of Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksím Kóval. Depor were desperate to get a new goalkeeper after the recent errors in goal, it was negotiating for Sevilla’s David Soria and Napoli’s Rafael.

Suddenly, they decided to go for Kóval. The Ukrainian was considered as a promise in his homeland and was a target for Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC a couple of years ago. He was currently playing for Dinamo Kiev (11 Premier League appearances on this season). The deal is a loan lasting until the end of the campaign with Depor having a buyout option (undisclosed amount).

These are the first two signings in the winter window, it’s expected a third as Depor are also targeting a centre midfielder. The club already completed two exits with Alejandro Arribas rescinding and with Saul Garcia going out loaned to CD Numancia. More exits are expected, just to have in mind that Depor already has four goalkeepers at the first team.
