New defeat for a Fabril that did nothing in attack, Pellicer changed the draw, but leaders CF Fuenlabrada didn’t face any opposition to pick up the points.

Coach Sergio Pellicer was allowing the debut of Juanmi Carrión, the left-back was a starter together with the other three winter signings: Ignacio Abeledo, Arturo Segado and Carlos Ramírez 'Leto'. The coach also modified the system as it was now a 5-2-3.

Álex Cobo was the starting goalie, Leto covered the right side in defence, Carrión played on the left, Quique Fornos, Raúl González and Steve One were the centre-backs. Gaizka Martínez and Segado were the centre midfielders, Abeledo attacked from the left wing, Jony Montiel did it from the right and Uxío Dapena was the centre forward.

CF Fuenlabrada arrived to the game as the leaders in the league and after two straight victories, they had only lost three times throughout the campaign, though two of those losses occurred within the previous six matchdays. Coach Baldomero Hermoso ‘Mere’ was relying in Omo Cedric for the goals, the Nigerian striker had scored seven goals before this game.

One of the worst games on the season and just when Fabril needed the points the most. Two schemes in one game, but the team was unable to create any danger before a rival that had an easy game in defence. Fabril started the game with the initiative, the lads had the ball and spent the time in Fuenlabrada.’s side of the field. But the first chance in the game was for the visiting team Cedric collected a cross from the left and Álex Cobo made the save (8’). One minute later, Abeledo ended a counterattack with a strong shot that missed the target.

Since minute 10, the game was more equal, the visiting side was having longer ball possessions, but without depth, while Fabril wee failing too many passes at midfield.  And suddenly Fuenlabrada found the first goal in the meeting.

A long cross from Caballero surprised the defence and Randy Nteka appeared alone to cross Álex Cobo through a header. There was no reaction from Fabril, the team continued to be a ghost missing passes and missing a guidance to create opportunities. Simpler and more dangerous were the long crosses of the visiting team, moves that were giving problems to the defence.

The half ended with the feeling that the second goal was closer, Fuenlabrada’s game was simpler, long passes searching for the back of the defence, while Fabril was drowned in short passes searching for players marked by two rivals. This time the individual moves of Montiel were off, so the lads left the feeling of been a dead team.

The best from Fabril came at the end of the first part. A corner-kick with two shots blocked inside the area (42’) and later a free-kick after a foul over Semedo at the edge of the area, the shot of Montiel passed close to the crossbar (45’).

Pellicer moved the bench at half-time, so Víctor García and Bicho replaced Fornos and Gaizka Martínez. The draw returned to be a 4-2-3-1. The changes gave more fluency to Fabril, but it wasn’t enough to give a sense of danger. Actually, the first chance to score in the half was for Fuenlabrada, it was a free-kick in which Cata Diaz sent the ball over the crossbar (54’)

The first approximation for Fabril in the half was a free-kick of Montiel that bounced on the ground and that was later caught by Biel Ribas (59’). Three minutes later, Victor García collected a cross from the left ad his shot from the right corner of the box hit the net by the outside.

The last modification at Fabril was the entry of Guillermo May for Abeledo. The three changes were offensive moves, but Fabril only completed a shot on target until minute 77, it was a header of Uxío that was an easy caught for Biel Ribas. Two minutes later a drilling cross from May couldn’t be connected at the box by Uxío. The final chance in the game was a crossed shot of substitute Javi Gómez that went out close to the far post (90’).

Dreadful presentation for Fabril, four new signings on the pitch and a new draw, but nothing is working for a team that seems condemned to relegation. The lads tried to have the ball possession, but the first shot on target came until minute 77. Fabril will remain as the last place at the standings, the next game is the visit to SD Ponferradina (Sunday, 17h00 CET)
