Nahuel Leiva was presented on Wednesday; the player said that Guilherme helped him to make the final decision, while Carmelo Del Pozo explained the details of the loan deal.

The second signing during the winter window as Nahuel Leiva. The winger was presented on Wednesday and explained his goal, “I come here for five months and with a clean goal: to get the promotion with Depor. And I will try to help the team to get the promotion. I want to make a good job in these five months and then extend my contract at Depor. Here there’s a human group and it’s good, the goal is clear and that’s good.”

Later the Argentine/Spanish player explained that his former team mate, Guilherme, helped to make the decision and sign for Depor, “I wanted to come here as it was a pretty challenge, and thank God things were completed. I asked Guilherme about the club and the city and he told me that I should accept. He was a central piece to have me here.”

He explained the players he had after singing for Villareal CF, “I had problems and I wasn’t able to demonstrate things, but I believe that, last season, at Barca B, I demonstrated the kind of player that I am, and that helped me to reach Olympiacos and now I land in a club with a clear goal.”

Asked if he feels better performing as a winger or as a playmaker, he commented that, “It’s a decision of the coach, but I feel more comfortable on the wings. But I will be happy anywhere the coach decides to put me. I will ty to bring the things I can do on the pitch. What I will do is to work everyday. The scheme has different variants as I can play inside and outside, and I feel comfortable on both functions.”

Nahuel also explained what he felt for debuting at the Riazor after only completing one training session, “It was fine, for been a field of Segunda there were a lot of people and that’s a lot for us. It helps us as the rivals are scare. I was happy playing at the Riazor. Everything was really fast. I arrived on Friday and was playing on Saturday. I am happy for debuting, but not for not winning.”

Then sporting director, Carmelo Del Pozo, was asked about the conditions of the operation, and he explained that Nahuel will extend his career at Depor in case of clinching the promotion, “The fundamental thing is to clinch the promotion, it will allow us to extend the loan for one more year. Then we will have several chances to put a buyout option, an option that we currently have and it’s optional. The amount is accessible for Deportivo La Coruña. Right now everything depends on the player and Deportivo.”
