This young keeper has been followed by Depor since two seasons ago. The Galician club was near to sign him together with Javi Fuego, but Sporting's authorities cancelled the deal in the last second. Now he has ended his contract with the Asturian club and has arrived to Depor in a free transfer. At the end, he will play in Deportivo B

Aythami Artiles Oliva (Spain) Signed from UD Las Palmas (21) Another surprising signing by Lendoiro. He performed with UD Las Palmas on the past season and he impressed for his aerial game. This central defender played 31 matches in Segunda with the Canarian squad. Lendoiro followed him during some months and he reached a €600,000 agreement for his transfer.
 
Pablo Sebastián Álvarez (Argentina) Estudiantes de La Plata (23) Alvarez is right-footed but in Argentina he is used to play on the left. It's the final solution chosen by Lotina, Lendoiro was trying to secure his arrival during the last hours of the summer market, but it wasn’t posible. However his agent assured that the operation will be tried once again in December.
(-) Osmar Daniel Ferreyra (Argentina) CSKA Moskow (24) 'Malevo' started his career at River Plate and has already played in Europe with PSV Endhoiven and CSKA Moscow (He won the UEFA cup and the Russian league). Ferreyra belongs to CSKA and played on loan during the past season with San Lorenzo. It was another option for the left back mentioned by Depor Sport
(-) Eginio de Araujo (Brazil) Flamengo (21) Another of the candidates appointed by Depor Sport in order to cover the left back position. He has just participated in five games with the Brazilian squad and already took part of Brazil's U-15 squad.
(-) Pablo Lima (Uruguay) San Lorenzo (26) Lima is Uruguayan and belongs to Paco Casal, an agent that controls the Uruguayan market and that arranged the arrivals of Abreu, Munua and Taborda to Deportivo. Lima plays at San Lorenzo and is famous in Argentina because he was sent-off after just two minutes during his debut game (Velez Sarfield Vs. Colon). Another of the endless options gave by Depor Sport for the left back position.
(-) Vitorino Antunes (Portugal) AS Roma (20) The club followed this young left defender during a friendly game between his team and Depor, but coach Lotina admitted that he isn't interested in this option. However, the club continued to follow his progress although at the end he was loaned to AS Roma.
(-) Gregory Tafforeau (France) Lille (30) One of the first four names mentioned by Depor Sport in order to cover the left back zone. This veteran defender has performed in Lille during the last six seasons and has even played the Champions League –he even faced Depor- The thing that called the attention of the club’s officials is that he always seems to be very well placed on the pitch.
(-) Taye Taiwo (Nigeria) Olympique Marselle (22) According to Depor Sport, it was one of the first four candidates to reinforce the left back position, but at the same time he was too expensive. A powerful Nigerian defender that played the U-20 World Cup with his country, and that was named the third best player of that tournament. He belongs to Olympique Marselle.
(-) Jean-Sébastien Jaurès (France) Auxerre (31) One of the four candidates mentioned by Depor Sport in order to reinforce the left back position. He has spent his carrer at Auxerre -11 seasons- and accumulates 200 games in the French first division. He is an expert heading the ball and fulfills one of Lotina’s petitions: experience.
(-) Guillaume Rippert (France) Valenciennes FC (22) This left defender was appointed by Depor Sport as a target. He's considered as one of the best promises in France, he has just played one season at the Valenciennes FC, but his performance was so convincing, that he already was contacted by some English clubs.
(-) Florian Marange (France) Girondis Burdeos (21) A left back defender suggested by Jerome Bonnissel, an ex-Depor player and currently working in Girondis Burdeos. He is a left defender that has played 43 matches in the Championnat during the last three seasons, and he already achieved a championship in Europe with France's U-19 squad.
(-) Juan Manuel Díaz (Uruguay) Liverpool (Uruguay) (19) This young left back called the attention of Lendoiro when he played the U-20 World Cup with Uruguay. According to several papers in La Coruña, including Depor Sport, it was one of the main alternatives to cover the left back position, but it seems that coach Lotina thinks that he's too much inexperienced, reason why the interest in him is frozen. Besides, he doesn't possess a EU-passport.
(-) Andrés Scotti (Uruguay) Argentinos Juniors (31) Sportpaper Deporte Campeón (DxT) wrote that this Uruguayan is the main alternative to replace Coloccini if the Argentinean leaves the Galician squad. Scotti was a normal starter with Uruguay during the last Copa America and played in Argentinos Juniors during the last campaign. He has also played in the Russian club of Rubin Razan, Necaxa (Mexico) and Nacional (Uruguay). The rights of Scotti belongs to Grupo Casal in South America, that's an advantage for Deportivo since this holding has been an allied for Lendoiro during the last years.
(-) Juan Gutierrez Moreno 'Juanito' (Spain) Betis (31) This veteran central defender was appointed as the replacement for Coloccini. Radio Nacional de España (RNE) was the source linking him with Depor, Juanito has played 153 games in Primera and he already performed with Spain's national coach.

He was near to sign for Deportivo during the summer of 2004, but Lendoiro wasn't able to fulfil the operation for a difference in the way of payment. At the end, the defender signed for Atlético Madrid who might be asking €6 million or more for him.
(-) Jonathan Bottinelli (Argentina) San Lorenzo de Almagro(23) He was a crucial piece in the championship of San Lorenzo de Almagro during Torneo Clausura 2007 in Argentinaa and he has been linked with several European clubs like Napoli, Genoa, Betis or the same Zaragoza. It has been known that San Lorenzo was asking €4.5 million for him. It's one of the three names appointed by Depor Sport as possible replacements for Coloccini.

He is an Argentinean player that begun his career in Rosario Central and that has played the last five seasons in France with Nantes. The French club suffered the relegation to second division, and Cetto will be released, meaning that he would come to Deportivo for free. Newspaper La Voz de Galicia informed that Zaragoza and Depor have made the first contacts for him. Depor Sport wrote that he is one of the three candidates to replace Coloccini in case that the Argentinean leaves.
(-) Sergio Sánchez (Spain) RCD Espanyol (21) He is a young defender that belongs to Espanyol and that played on loan during the season 2006/2007 at Real Madrid Castilla, he played 20 matches in Segunda. Lotina allowed his debut in Primera on the season 2005/2006 and he was a regular starter during the last matches of that campaign, but Lotina's replacement, Ernesto Valverde, preferred to loan him out for the season 2007/2008. At the end, he was loaned to Racing Santander.

Mexican paper Esto has wrote that Deportivo has asked to his current club, América, about the situation of this right defender. According to this source, the agent of the player -José Manuel Sanz- could present to América an offer coming from Depor. Castro has been a normal starter with América in the Mexican league and has also played more than 15 games with the national squad.

The media in French informed that Depor has asked about the situation of this Colombian central defender. He has been playing in PSG since the season 2004. Yepes ends his contract in June of 2008.

He had a short-period at Arsenal and is currently playing in Flamengo. This French left defender has played 60 matches with Nantes during the last two seasons. French paper 20 Minutes informed that Espanyol, Manchester City and Deportivo are interested in him. The same Signorino admitted that Depor is one of the most interested clubs in his services, but at the end he signed for Getafe.

It was one of the choices in order to cover the left back zone, but his high salary stopped any negotiation. He was transferred to Olympiakos Pireus and it was reported that Real Madrid recived €1.5 million in the operation.

Castedo is a veteran defender that Caparrós met in Sevilla, the exit of Capdevila during the summer opened a door to him, specially since David was ending his contract with Sevilla in June 2007. But at the end he sifned for UD Levante.

Andrés Guardado (Mexico) Signed from Atlas Guadalajara (20)
This offensive midfielder midfielder was praised by the media after he played the World Cup 2006 with Mexico. He was linked with Real Madrid, but the interest in him dissapeared. Then PSV traied to sign him until Lendoiro made a surprising movement for him. At the end, Depor will pay €7 million for this talented Mexican player.
   
Ángel Lafita (Spain) Signed from Zaragoza (22)
Deportivo tried to sign him on the summer of 2006, but he extended his contract with Zaragoza. But Depor insisted and the player saw it as a nice option in order to progress. Lendoiro arranged a loan for one year, at the end of the season he could be bought for €2 million, in that case lafita would sign a five-year contract, while Zaragoza will maintain the option to rebuy him.
   
Jairo Álvarez Gutiérrez (Spain) signed from Sporting Gijón (21)
This talented playmaker ended his contract with Sporting in June and signed a three-deal contract with Deportivo. It has been reported that Lendoiro will pay €300,000 in the year 2,010 form him. An amount that could be incresed to €600,000 if he signs an extension of contract. But Lotina doesn't count with him and right now the player is searching for a new destiny.

One of the best players during the past U-20 World Cup. Granero is an offensive midfielder that can also perform as playmaker. According to sportpaper Marca, coach Bernd Schuster doesn't count with him for the first squad and it seems that Deportivo and Cádiz are trying to sign a loan operation with the Madrilenian club.

Newspaper La Opinión A Coruña informed that the Italian player was offered to Deportivo. The midfielder belongs to AS Roma and played on loan at Chievo Verona during the past three season, Brighi played 28 matches on the past campaign and scored 3 goals.

He is a experienced offensive midfielder that debuted in Fluminense and that later played in Benfica. He also appeared six times wearing the shirt of Brazil during the year 2000, including three games in the Olympic games (Sydney 2000). Roger can also perform as a playmaker, lately he has been unlucky since his current team, Corinthians, isn't counting with his services. It seems that is target price is $1 million (€734,000).

This left winger debuted on the past year thanks to the confidence that coach Miguel Angel Russo had on him. The boy surprised everybody and ended as the pichichi of the squad with six goals scored. He was called to Argentina's U-20 squad that played the World Cup in Canada. According to Depor Sport, the target price for this youngster is around the $4 and the $6 million. But Depor preferred to sign Mexican Andrés Guardado.

This young midfielder can be considered as a veteran, he already won la liga and the Champions League with Barcelona, his name was been linked with Depor as Duscher's replacement. He signed for Atlético Madrid at the end.

Teixeira is a playmaker that has been described as a good organiser in midfield. He has played with PSG and FC Istres in France. He is currently playing in Portugal with Academica de Coimbra, a club in which he has scored 4 goals in 59 games. The price to be paid for him could be around €1 million.
(-) Gilberto Ribeiro 'Gil' (Brazil) Gimnástic Tarragona (26)
Lendoiro saw him for fifteen minutes, and he liked the skills of this Brazilian player. It was rumoured that this talented left winger would end his contract with Nástic as a consequence of the relegation of the Catalan club to Segunda, but this fact hasn't been confirmed.

According to sportpapers AS and Marca, Deportivo was negotiating with Villarreal for Santi Cazorla, he was at Recreativo, but Villarreal fulfilled a buyout option over the player. Cazorla is a talented midfielder that can perform on both wings and even as a playmaker.

He is a defensive midfielder. According to RPP-Noticias, the player has been followed by Catania, Cagliari, Udinese, Palermo, Atalanta and Deportivo. It seems that Catania already offered $200,000 (€150,000), but Universitario is asking for €800,000. Cevasco is normal starter in Universitario and has already debuted with the national team of Perú, however he wasn't included in the list of 26 players that coach Julio César Uribe is taking to Copa América.
(-) Pascal Feindouno (French Guinea) Saint-Etienne (26)
He is a playmaker with a positive scoring record that reflects 41 goals in 223 matches at the Championnat. Sportpaper AS linked him with Depor, but the rumour seems to have started in the British paper Evening Times. Feindouno has been valued at £4 million (€5.89 million) and has been mentioned that Levante, Deportivo, Valencia and Rangers were after him. Feindouno usually play for the national team of French Guinea and is the current captain of the African squad.

The Argentinean arrived to Cádiz on the past season and he impressed everybody although the Andalucian club ended relegated to Segunda, he can play on both wings and also as a playmaker. The target price of the player is €6 million, but according to newspaper El Diario de Cádiz, Deportivo was trying to negotiate the loan of the player.

This midfielder was one of the reasons why Recreativo de Huelva has played an impressive 2006/2007 campaign. The Sevillan was the player with more minutes in the Andalucian squad (3,108). Besides, he was the third best scorer in the squad -six goals- after Sinama-Pongolle and Uche. According to sportpaper AS, Deportivo contacted the player. His contract with Recreativo ends in 2009, but his release clause was of €1 million. But at the end the clauses were changed and signed a new contract with the Andalucian club.

Another left winger that Depor was following in Argentina. He debuted in Torneo Apertura 2005 playing during 20 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Independiente, for the Torneo Clausura 2007, he played nine games although he was only a starter in one occasion. He hasn't scored yet any goal in first division. Di Maria's history is really curious, the youngster was discovered by the coach Angel Zof and he was promoted to the first squad without playing any game first with the second team. He made an impressive job at the U-20 World Cup and ended signing for Benfica.

This Pontevedra-born midfielder is a multifunctional player that can perform on both wings. He ended his contract with Celta in June, and he admitted in radio Gallega that he has two offers one from Deportivo and the other one from Recreativo. But Lendoiro himself explained that the club isn't interested in his signing.

This Galician midfielder is currently playing in Las Palmas and will be out of contract at the end of the season 2007/2008. Several papers rumoured about the interest of Depor over him, and the player even declared that a transfer to Depor will be an important step in his career. La Voz de Galicia enve wrote that Depor offered €120,000 for the player, but at the end, the same club denied through canaldeportivo.com any interest in Trashorras.

'El Gringo' is a defensive midfielder that has spent his career at Belgrano, the club from Córdoba has ended in the second division and Deportivo tried to sign him in a public auction, but FC Porto offered $2.7 million and surpassed the $2.5 million bid of the Galician club.

Lotina knows this defensive midfielder since the Basque coached Osasuna a few years ago, Muñoz ended his contract in June and according to some sources, he was offered to Depor. But the same Lotina has said that the club isn't thinking in his incorporation.

The Valencian striker was the pichichi of Osasuna with 11 goals scored in 30 liga matches. He signed a new contract with Real Madrid, one that will end in the year 2,012, it was rumoured that he would be loaned since coach Schuster was prefering other options. But at the end, he stays at the Madrilenian club.

Postiga was offered to Deportivo since Porto wasn’t counting with him for the season 2007/2008. coach Lotina admitted that it will be a good adition to his squad, but the the target price seemed prohibitive: €4 million.

Another striker from Porto offered to Deportivo. The Brazilian seems to be losing his place in the starting lineup against Argentinean Farías and would cost €3 million. He has scored 17 goals in 35 matches played with Porto.

The striker has been followed by other clubs like Levante and Mallorca, and he has refused to sign an extension with the Catalan club. According to Depor Sport, he might come for free for the season 2008/2009. Corominas has scored 8 goals in 88 liga matches with Espanyol. One of this conquers was a last-minute goal that saved Espanyol from the relegation during the season 2005/2006.

'Chelito' Delgado is a talented striker that can perform as striker and also on both wings, he has been an international player with Argentina and it's considered as the best player in Cruz Azul (Mexico). His contract was ending in June of 2007, but he extended the year until December of 2008.

He is the pichichi of Real Madrid Castilla and another diamond wished by several primera clubs. He scored 18 goals on the season 2006/2007 (Segunda) and UD Almeria is close to sign him. But everything depends in who will be the new coach in Real Madrid. The player already said that he will love to come to Deportivo. His name was mentioned as a target by Depor Sport, but president Lendoiro said recently that he isn't a target of Deportivo.

This Mexican player impressed in the U-17 World Cup that was won by Mexico. He was signed by Arsenal, but the youngster is ineligible to play in England due to the foreign rules in that country, and he was loaned out to Celta for the season 2005/2006, but neither Celta was able to hold him since their three foreign spots were already occupied. For this reason, the Mexican player spent six months in Celta just training with the first squad then he wa loaned out to Salamanca. ex-Depor's second coach, Luci, admitted that Depor was interested in negotiating a loan spell with Arsenal, but at then end, this operation took place with Osasuna.

This was one of the candidates appointed by Depor Sport. His team, San Lorenzo de Almagro, won the torneo Clausura 2007 and Lavezzi scored four goals in fourteen matches. But he was transferred to Napoli at the beggining of July for $8.2 million.

This Argentinean striker arrived to Spain during January of 2007 as a reinforcement for Real Sociedad. He belongs to San Lorenzo and was loaned out for six months. It was speculated that Lotina would ask for his signing. However, the same Lotina confirmed that Depor won't sign any player coming from Real Sociedad. Herrera only scored 1 goal in 19 matches with the Basque team.

This talented striker was signed by Udinese some years ago, he was loaned out to Ciudad de Murcia during the season 2005/2006. He impressed with his 8 goals in Segunda and several Premiership clubs were chasing him. At the end he ended in Murcia, one of the new teams in Primera.

Rodri (23) (loaned to Poli Ejido)
Although the Catalan played in the disastrous debut on this season (0-3 Vs Almeria), coach Lotina decided to discard him, that's why the club reached an agreement with Poli Ejido, a club from Segunda. El Ejido is a city located in Almeria, club in which Rodri spent the past season.
Momo (25) (loaned to Xerez)
Like it happended with Irureta and Caparrós, Momo wasn't able to convince Lotina, now the Canarian will have to prove one more time his real potential.
Iago Iglesias (23) (transferred to Elche)
The Galician youngster was transferred to Elche in a complicate deal. Elche will have to pay €200,000 if they achieve the promotion to Primera and €75,000 if they want to sign an additional two-year contract with the player. In the last case, Depor will have a €150,000 buyout option over Iago.
Andrés Guirado (25) (released)
The Malaga-born midfielder never found a place in Deportivo after spending the season 2006/2007 on loan in Vecindario and Lugo. He was released from his contract and signed for Levante B.
Carlos Alcántara (22) (loaned to Cartagena)
This left defender didn't count for coach Lotina, and for the second time in a row, he has been loaned out to a Segunda B club, this time his destiny is Cartagena. He will spend there the season 2007/2008.
Jorge Andrade (29) (sold to Juventus FC)
The injury that Andrade suffered during the season 2005/2006 blocked his exit from Deportivo, but the Portuguese defender returned strongly and called the attention of several clubs. Real Madrid and Barcelona were interested in him, but it was Juventus FC who bought him. Apparently the deal was for €10 million.
Alvaro Arbeloa (24) (sold to Liverpool)
Arbeloa was one of the main surprises in la liga 2006/2007, he won a place in the starting lineup against veterans like Coloccini, Andrade or Lopo. Liverpool's Rafa Benítez saw his progression and made a quick move for him during the winter window of 2007. The financial problems forced Deportivo to accept €4 million in the operation, of this amount, Real Madrid received €1,35 million as part of the clause signed during his arrival to Depor.
Javier Arizmendi (23) (sold to Atlético Madrid)
His six goals on the season 2006/2007 and his performance in the first round match agaisnt Real Madrid awoke the interest of his previous club, Atlético Madrid. They fulfilled the €3 million buout clause over the striker and also paid a penalisation of €750,000 since Arizmendi ended in Valencia.
Joan Capdevila (29) (out of contract)
This left defender played 180 matches with Depor in la liga. He is one of the last survivors from the team that played the Champions League at the beggining of the decade. His destiny is Villarreal.
Aldo Duscher (29) (out of contract)
Another veteran from the 'Champions League nights'. He arrived as 'Mauro Silva's replacement', although some fans doesn't want to compare him with the Brazilian legend. He was an important piece in midfield after Mauro retired.
Juanma (30) (out of contract- going to Tenerife)
This veteran defender was the most pleasent surprise in the season 2005/2006 after Caparrós recommended his signing, but an injury left him out of action for the beginning of the season 2006/2007 (pubalgy). The Andalucian central defender returned out of shape and he wasn't the same one of the previous campaign. He signed for Tenerife in Segunda.

Fabricio Coloccini (25)
The deadline to sell the Argentinean central defender is over, coach Lotina doesn't want to see his exit and Lendoiro will only allow it if somebody pays the buyout option of the player (€60 million).
