Deportivo 2007–08 Season

Another season of survival at the wrong end of La Liga for Deportivo de La Coruña. The 2007–08 campaign encapsulated the challenges facing a club attempting to remain in the top flight while managing the financial consequences of a decade of ambitious spending during the Super Dépor era.

Young players were being integrated alongside veterans — a necessary but difficult process. The club’s scouting and development infrastructure was being tested as Deportivo attempted to find the next generation of quality that could reverse the club’s fortunes. The relegation battle was endured rather than enjoyed, but survival was achieved with a few points to spare.
