Deportivo 2024–25 Season
The consolidation year. Back in the Segunda División after two seasons in Primera Federación, Deportivo de La Coruña finished the 2024–25 campaign in 15th place with 53 points (13 wins, 14 draws, 15 defeats, 56 goals for, 54 against) — mid-table safety, never seriously threatened by the drop and never in the promotion race.
The season had two distinct halves on the bench. Imanol Idiakez, the coach of the 2024 promotion, departed on 28 October 2024 with the team struggling for rhythm; Óscar Gilsanz stepped up from the club’s structure days later, first as caretaker and then confirmed, and steadied the side through the winter.
The clearest signal came from the wing: Yeremay Hernández scored 16 league goals, announcing himself as one of the division’s outstanding attacking players. Together with the emergence of David Mella, the season’s real product was the young core that would carry the promotion push a year later.
